Andrew Cristall has long been an offensive dynamo. The reason he fell to 40th overall in the 2023 draft to the Washington Capitals, was related to his off-puck game. Now that he is two seasons removed from being drafted, some of those questions remain and some new ones have developed. Is he good enough away from the puck to be a second-liner in the NHL? Or will he be simply a third-liner, power play specialist? 

The Elite Prospects team had Cristall ranked 19th in 2023 so suffice to say the team believes the Capitals got a great value at 40. The team recognized his weaknesses of physical play and skating, but that was overshadowed by his incredible hockey sense and playmaking.
